James Sadler, PDRA
James was an EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow in the group after completing his undergraduate and DPhil degrees at the University of Oxford. He had been in Oxford since he started his undergraduate degree in 2010. His research interests include high power laser plasma interactions and inertial fusion. James has worked with large scale PIC simulations to model the non-linear plasma waves developed in stimulated Raman back-scatter. Furthermore, this instability may be used to amplify laser pulses within a plasma to reach unprecedented intensities. Recently, James has been modelling inertial fusion ignition by including fusion reactions in to a Vlasov-Fokker-Planck plasma simulation code. James has also worked on several high power laser experiments at the Central Laser Facility and Laboratory for Laser Energetics. James now works with Hui Li at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
